Research Positions: Research Fellowships - September 2013

The Carlos III-Juan March Institute (IC3JM) in Madrid invites annual applications for researchers in the Social Sciences. This year the IC3JM has two open junior research positions in the field of political science.

The Institute seeks candidates working in political economy, comparative politics or international relations, although it is open to consider other subfields in the discipline.

Candidates must have obtained a PhD degree after 1st January 2011 and before 1st September 2014, the date on which the employment contract commences.

Junior researchers do not have teaching obligations, although they are encouraged to teach one course per year. Selected candidates are expected to publish their research in prestigious journals and presses and to participate in the academic activities of the Institute. Salary will be € 42,000 per year. In addition, there is an annual research fund of € 2,500 for academic meetings. The contract will be for a period of three years.

The IC3JM is the continuation of the Center for Advanced Study in the Social Sciences of the Juan March Institute. It is now a private-public institution, located at the Getafe campus of Carlos III University, one of the most prestigious Spanish universities, particularly in the social sciences. The IC3JM promotes high quality research in the social sciences, with a strong emphasis on comparative and analytical approaches.
