IBEI Assistant Professor 2014 – International Security

The Institut Barcelona d’Estudis Internacionals (IBEI) invites applications for one full-time tenure-track position in Political Science/International Relations, with a special interest in International Security, at the Assistant Professor level. This position is part of IBEI’s ambition to raise its international research profile. The position should begin September 15, 2014. A five-year contract will be offered. At the end of the fourth year, the Assistant Professor’s performance will be reviewed. A performance review for tenure will normally be undertaken at the end of the fourth your, or potentially earlier for candidates who already have a strong publication record.

Candidates must have obtained a Ph.D. by the time they will join IBEI and must show a promising record of publications in peer-reviewed journals and/or major scholarly presses. The Assistant Professor is expected to teach in IBEI’s Master’s degree programs (teaching in English) and to participate in IBEI activities and research programs. Salary conditions are internationally competitive and will include support for research expenses. Excellent personal skills and an ability to contribute to collaborative research projects are also essential for this position. Applications must be submitted by January 10, 2014.
