Job Advertisement: Postdoctoral Position

The Institut Barcelona d’Estudis Internacionals (IBEI) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Position.

The position will be part of the Research Project ‘TransCrisis- Enhancing the EU’s Transboundary Crisis Management Capacities’ funded by the EU Horizon 2020, of which IBEI is a member. Led by the London School of Economics, TransCrisis examines the crisis management capacities of the EU’s multilateral governance system. This includes a focus on tools, instruments, actors, norms and values related to the EU’s role as a manager of different kinds of crises, and how those capacities can be made more effective and legitimate.

The successful candidate will be specifically working on EU regulatory agencies and their capacities and limits affecting crisis management and leadership at the European level.

Applicants must possess a recent PhD in political science, EU studies or in a closely related field, with an interest in EU agencies, regulation and governance, and must be fluent in English. Candidates with quantitative backgrounds preferred. Excellent personal skills and an ability to contribute to collaborative research projects are also essential for this position.

The appointment is full-time and will be for a two year contract, starting in September 2015. The salary is 26.000 Euros/year.
