EMPLOYMENT PROFILE

Full-time academic position in Political Science, contributing to teaching (lecturing, supervision of Masters-level and PhD students) and to the research activities of the Department of Political Science (Faculty of Social and Political Sciences).

AREAS OF EXPERTISE

The successful candidate will be a specialist in political sociology and methodology in political science, as demonstrated by publication in high-ranking international journals.

The successful candidate will be bilingual (French-English) and will contribute to strengthening the standing of the Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB) within the international research community.

TEACHING DUTIES

The candidate will be responsible for delivering core BA courses in political sociology as well as a more in-depth course in methodology for Master-level students.

He/she will also be able to deliver a course introducing students to political regimes of Latin American Countries.

Starting one year after taking up position, the successful candidate will teach at least two courses and will gradually be assigned further teaching responsibilities in his/her area of specialization, eventually delivering the same amount of teaching as all Department's full-time members (four courses a year).

The content of teaching responsibilities may be subject to periodic review.

REMARK

Unless the candidate already holds a teaching, research or permanent position within the Fonds National de la Recherche Scientifique (at ULB), the engagement will initially be for five-year probation period.

At the end of this period, subject to decision by the university's Board of Directors, the position will become a tenure-track position.
