Call for Papers IAPSS Panel on “Cooperation, Conflict and Security”

at the  9th Pan-European Conference on International Relations of the European International Studies Association (EISA) 22 – 26 September 2015, Catania, Italy

Description of the panel: conflicts and cooperation are two fundamental aspect of human and political behaviour. Political philosophy has repeatedly tried to focus on the importance of cooperation between two or more actors in order to achieve a greater goal. Why it is that conflict sometimes takes the place of cooperation and what are the reasons for this transition in the relationship of two or multiple actors? Is it possible to restore cooperation after conflicts? Finally, in what ways can we preserve and secure a status quo of cooperation, avoiding thus a conflict?

We welcome five papers from Political Science and/or International Relations (and related fields) students and young scholars. Our objective is to collect as many applications as possible submitted by students coming from all around the globe. We also look for one discussant and one chairperson on the panel.
