Salary from £36,647 to £44,140 with potential to progress to £47,456 pa inclusive of London allowance
This is a fixed term appointment for up to 1 year
The Department of Methodology at LSE coordinates and provides a focus for methodological activities and graduate student training at the School. The Department is an interdisciplinary group, with faculty working in the disciplines of sociology, anthropology, international relations, economics, political science, statistics, social psychology, social policy and criminology.
We are seeking to appoint an individual with established research interests in any social science discipline to a fixed-term faculty appointment.
The successful candidates will become part of an emerging and fast growing group of social scientists within the department and across the school. They will be encouraged to collaborate with current faculty on new and ongoing projects and supported to develop their own independent research agenda.
The position additionally requires the successful candidates to contribute to a small number of graduate-level courses in computational social science, quantitative methodology, qualitative methodology and/or research design. The LSE Fellow will contribute actively to the life of the Department of Methodology, enjoy working as part of a team, and possess the ability to adapt to its varying demands. Candidates should have completed their PhD by the time they take up the post.
Candidates should have:
A developing record of research in social science
Experience of teaching research methods
Commitment to high quality teaching and course development
Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing
