El Centre d´Études de la Vie Politique (CEVIPOL) de la Universidad Libre de Bruselas, está buscando actualmente dos candidatos para desarrollar una tesis doctoral en el marco del proyecto de investigación PARTIREP.
The Centre d’étude de la vie politique (Cevipol) of the Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB) is looking for 2 doctoral researchers (PhD grants) to participate in research projects within the framework of the PARTIREP Interuniversity Attraction Pole (IAP)
The Partirep project (www.partirep.eu)
Partirep is a large interuniversity project operating over 5 years (2012-2017) funded by the Belgian Science Policy (Belspo). It brings together about 12 PhD students as well as a broad group of senior researchers from 5 Belgian universities. The project focuses on changing patterns of participation and representation in contemporary democracies in a comparative perspective. The overall project is divided in sub-projects dealing with partisan and electoral representation, the personalization of politics, and democratic innovation.
Job status and conditions
- 48 months (4 years) contract
- Start: October 1st, 2012
- Full-time (PhD grant – bursary)
- Mandatory PhD research based at Cevipol, ULB, Brussels
- Completion of doctoral training (60 ECTS) and PhD writing and defense (120 ECTS) by the end of the 4th year (see http://dev.ulb.ac.be/sciencespo/en/doctorat.html )
Required skills/qualifications
- Master in political science [Degree obtained in September 2012 at the latest]
- High academic achievements
- Full mastery of English and French as working languages (written & spoken)
- Strong ability to work in a team
- Strong methodological skills
- Motivation to participate in conferences, seminars, workshops and various training
Profile 1
- Sub-topic of research: Democratic innovation in political parties and the introduction of party primaries in Europe
- Specific skills: comparative research design, quantitative methods
Profile 2
- Sub-topic of research: Democratic innovation in political parties: the role of activists in political parties (with a focus on electoral campaigning)
- Specific skills: experimental methods, quantitative methods
